The real comparison

How are you doing it today?

A bookkeeper

Cheaper on paper, narrow in practice.

  • You carry the key-person risk: when they're away or leave, the books stop.
  • Decisions made on last quarter's numbers.

Doing it yourself

Free, except for your evenings.

  • Your highest-value hours spent on the lowest-value work.
  • Every hour on reconciliations is an hour not spent on growth, customers, or product.

An in-house finance person

One salary, one set of skills.

  • Salary, payroll taxes, benefits, and overheads, not just the wage.
  • You're still dependent on one person: when they're sick, on leave, or resign, the function stops.

A virtual CFO

Strategy, on top of stale numbers.

  • Advice is only as good as the books underneath it.
  • One more vendor to manage, on top of whoever does the actual work.

A finance function closes all four gaps: one team runs the work, and reads the result.

The fee Flat and monthly

Set for the scope we agree. Nobody here bills by the hour.

The team Dedicated, by name

Bookkeeping, payroll, payables, and receivables specialists who know the business, with cover built in.

The rhythm Current every day

Transactions coded as they land and month-end closed on schedule, every month.

The chase Done in your name

Invoices out on schedule and overdue accounts followed up, so cash keeps arriving.

The read Explained each month

Visory Insights: what changed, what it means, what to do next, with your Business Performance Partner.

The engine Delphi AI, in the background

Pays for itself

Where the fee comes back.

The biggest return

Decisions made on data, not gut feel.

The biggest return isn't the hours saved. It's the calls you make with real numbers underneath them.

  • When can you afford your next hire?
  • Which service line deserves the next dollar of investment?
  • When is the right time for that next big purchase?
  • Cash found in the numbers

Regular vendor spend reviews and cost tracking surface what has quietly crept up, for example vendor costs rising while revenue did not follow, and where cash flow timing can be improved.

  • Owner hours, returned

Call it three hours a week that stop going to reconciliation, pay runs, and chasing. They are the most expensive hours in the business, and they go back to the work that earns.

  • Cash, collected sooner

Invoices leave on schedule and overdue accounts are followed up in your name. Every day that comes off your receivables cycle is working capital back in the account instead of on paper.

  • Penalties and rework, avoided

Pay runs checked every cycle and month-end closed on schedule, on a ledger that does not need repairing at year end. One late filing or payroll error can cost more than a month of the fee to put right.

The measurable levers are designed to cover the fee. The decisions are the return on top.

Who it's for

Built for real complexity, not for every business.

Visory fits

The businesses we do our best work for.

  • Revenue roughly $750k to $20m, in the United States.
  • People to pay, suppliers to manage, and customers to invoice, every month.
  • The owner is still the finance department, or an office manager carries it between other jobs.
  • You make hiring, pricing, or cash calls at least monthly, and want current numbers under them.
Not the right fit

Where we will tell you so on the first call.

  • You need a one-off job: a backlog clean-up, a project, or hourly help. Visory is an ongoing monthly service.
  • A few hours of bookkeeping a month covers the business. A capable local bookkeeper will cost less and serve you well at that size.
  • You only need tax advice or tax filing. Visory runs the finance function, not tax returns.
  • Price is your only criterion. If you just need the books coded, a local bookkeeper will serve you well.
On the line between the two? The discovery call is where we tell you straight, and point you somewhere suitable if that is the honest answer. Book an obligation-free discovery call

Common questions

Straight answers on pricing.

How does Visory set the fee?

One flat monthly fee for the scope we agree. It reflects the services in your engagement and the size and complexity of the work behind them: how much runs through the books, how many people are paid, how many bills and invoices move each month, and how often you work with your Business Performance Partner. The free financial health check sets the scope, and your proposal fixes the number.

What does a typical engagement cost?

Most engagements land between about $1,000 and $3,200 a month. Finance Operations typically starts from $1,000, Business Performance & Insights from $2,000, and Strategic Finance & Governance from $3,200. Your fee reflects the size and complexity of the work, and your proposal fixes the number.

Is there a minimum engagement?

Bookkeeping alone is a valid starting point, and most engagements start near the bottom of the typical range. What we don't offer is one-off or project work: Visory is an ongoing monthly service.

Can I start with just bookkeeping?

Yes. Engagements are shaped around what you need, and most businesses add services as they go.

Can I buy accounts receivable or payable on its own?

No. Collections works because the books behind it are current and ours: we know which invoices are genuinely due, which are disputed, and which customer relationships need a careful hand. Payables and receivables run on the books we keep, so they are not sold alone. If invoice chasing by itself is what you need, a standalone collections service will suit you better, and we are happy to say so.

Why is there no hourly billing?

An hourly bill rewards slow work. A flat fee rewards the automation, standard workflows, and rhythm we have built, and it means a question to your team never comes with a meter running.

Are taxes included in the estimate?

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any sales tax that applies.

Is there an onboarding fee?

Yes, a one-time onboarding fee. It covers the clean-up of your books, system setup and integrations, and the transition of admin from whoever carries it today. It is scoped from your free financial health check and set out in your proposal before you commit to anything.

What happens after I book a discovery call?

We listen first. A senior member of the Visory team then analyzes your financials free of charge as your free financial health check, and you receive a fixed monthly proposal for the scope that fits. You keep the health check either way.
